JoyFULL (2018)

Choreography by Audrey Hubbard Madison
Music Faces by Earth, Wind & Fire

JoyFULL, is inspired by the belief that We, as Human Beings, are here in this life, on this Earth, to lift ourselves and each other up. Thoughts conveyed in affirmation statements published by the Hillside International Truth Center inform the choreography. “Joy is an inner strength that moves you through any circumstances… The joy in my heart is my superpower that moves me through whatever crosses my path… With joy in my heart I hold a vision of wholeness for all humanity…”

Inspiration—to do, to be, to become—is all around us. As we aspire, we open our hearts and minds to allow the Light inside of us, then we use that Light as activated fuel to power our actions toward manifesting our dreams into reality.

Light IN, Let Your Light Shine, Take It Forth, Make It So!

FIRES in our SOULS (2020)

Choreography by Audrey Hubbard Madison
Music 1960 What by Gregory Porter

Countless examples of Man’s Inhumanity to Man, and Woman, smoldering like FIRES in Our Souls, have shaped the women we have become. We love and nurture, work and strive toward the changes in social justice that we want to see in this world. Every human being is unique and able. Each and every one is deserving and worthy of humane respect, as well as safe, fair and equitable opportunities in society.

Social justice issues and concerns have compelled many to protest for change over time. The music for this piece speaks of two specific incidents from the 1960s. Yet sixty years later, the urgent need to protest for social justice continues. We capture some of that impact in this piece, a reflection of an intersection with the hopes and dreams of women/ people of color.

Party On the Stage (2005)

Countless examples of Man’s Inhumanity to Man, and Woman, smoldering over years, like FIRES in Our Souls, invoke realistic and optimistic introspection and have shaped the women we have become. Be The CHANGE You Want To See reflects common human experiences, dreams of the world we would like to exist in, and acknowledges that each of us can make a difference.  Individual and collective influence lead to action to promote the societal changes we would like to see in this world. And the struggle, to spread optimism, inspiration, and respect for all, during this challenging time in American and global society, continues…
